Mission

Founded in August 2024, the Society for Armenian Vulnerable Elderly (SAVE) provides humanitarian assistance to Armenian seniors living in Armenia and Lebanon. Our goal is to improve the quality of life of elderly Armenians by providing proper nourishment, health care, and companionship. Through funding, programs, and advocacy, we ensure that our elderly Armenians advance with dignity and optimism.

Institutions We Support

Nadine Basmadjian Day Care Center

The Nadine Basmadjian Day-Care Center for the Elderly, located in Gyumri, Armenia, serves abandoned and socially vulnerable seniors living in unfavorable home environments. The Center creates opportunities to interact not only with their peers, but also with the children of the Our Lady of Armenia Center Orphanage and the students of the Diramayr Vocational School. Qualified staff members provide social- psychological and medical assistance and help the elderly become more self-sufficient. The Center’s activities include: nutritious meals throughout the day; social and cultural activities; celebrations of holidays and anniversaries; theatrical presentations, song and dance, and recitations; medical examinations; physical exercise; assistance with bathing and personal hygiene; laundry services; and psychological counseling.

The Vanadzor Home for the Elderly

The Vanadzor Home for the Elderly was founded in 1996 by the Armenian Benevolent Foundation. Currently, the center houses 55 elderly individuals: 30 men and 25 women, including 8 residents from Artsakh.
